The highly anticipated four-seater Gran Turismo from Porsche, the new Panamera made its Malaysian debut with its three variants – the Panamera S, Panamera 4S and the Panamera Turbo on 3 October 2009. Held in the expansive halls of the renowned Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the launch thrilled both members of the media and car enthusiasts alike.

Exclusive invitations were sent to VIPs, guests, friends and Porsche owners to witness the landmark launch of Porsche’s fourth model line. The event was officiated by Chairman of Jaseri Automotive Group, the official Porsche Importer in Malaysia, Dato’ Mokhzani Mahathir and His Excellency the German Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Guenter Gruber. Over 200 attendees were present at the launch, including an impressive turn out of over 60 members of the media. The event also welcomed 150 guests, including Porsche customers, prospects and VIPs, many of whom are prominent members of society. Amidst an energy-charged violin performance, the night’s events began on a powerful note with the spectacular unveiling of the pinnacle of the Panamera range - the Panamera Turbo. As the curtains fell away and the music faded, all eyes were focused solely on the new Gran Turismo.

To showcase the car’s versatility and spaciousness, four models emerged from within the Turbo and demonstrated by loading 4 customised Porsche aluminium trolley cases into the luggage compartment with ease. Furthermore, the stylish trolley cases were matched to the exterior colour of the Panamera, an option available upon request from Porsche Design Driver’s Selection.

Following this, Mr. Herwart Fleischer, Regional Manager After Sales, Porsche Asia Pacific gave a speech highlighting the technical aspects of the Panamera range and the new innovations it brings to the luxury segment. And finally, the trio of Panameras was completed – Amidst a darkened room with the spotlight on the stage, the Panamera S and Panamera 4S were revealed from behind, to be displayed alongside the Turbo. Guests were also given the opportunity to have an up-close look and feel of the Panamera range, with many guests especially impressed by the long, forward-sloping centre console.

The night’s events successfully piqued the interest of all who were present, and left the guests eager and excited for more. Positive reviews regarding the appearance, performance and overall luxury feel of the Panamera were heard all around, as guests ended the night abuzz from all that the Panamera has to offer.
