Philosophy & History
Our inspiration.
With your Porsche, you've already made a dream come true. But what would become of your Porsche dream, if you couldn't continue to dream about it? If it didn't have sufficient room for each of your ideas? In short: if it wasn't just as individual as your life? Continuing to refine a Porsche, even after delivery. Making it individual and suitable for everyday use, yet not mundane. This is our claim. And that of many Porsche enthusiasts.
The early 1950s.
The history of individual requirements has a long tradition. Back in the early 1950s, the idea of improving a car's everyday driveability was already clearly visible. The best example was the individual production of ski luggage carriers. From 1972, this idea was then adopted by the Porsche Parts Service. At this time, the range mainly included wheel centres and floor mats.
The expansion of the product programme.
The expansion of the product programme rapidly gained momentum. Because there were numerous ideas for additional accessories. For example, the first wind deflector for Porsche Cabriolets was developed, which was available as an accessory for the 944 and 968 models. Practical transport solutions for bikes, skis and more also joined the range.
1995 – the birth of Porsche Tequipment.
The steadily growing demand for genuine Porsche accessories justified the division's next step: in 1995, Porsche Tequipment was born – short for "Technical Equipment".
The Porsche Tequipment product range.
Porsche Tequipment offers a wide range of accessories for retrospective personalisation. On the one hand, the range enhances the product benefits: in the form of tailored, model-specific transport systems, for example. On the other hand, it heightens emotions and driving pleasure: from sports exhaust systems, through visual personalisation options, such as tinted main headlights, to complete wheel sets in unique designs.
The principle of Porsche Tequipment.
Porsche Tequipment products are developed with the whole vehicle in mind. By the same engineers and designers who create the cars. Primarily in the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach. Just like the vehicles, all accessories also undergo extensive testing during their development. Because they are more than just accessories: they are part of a harmonious overall concept. Part of a Porsche.
1997 - the first self-designed wheel.
Wheel sets designed by Porsche also form part of the core Porsche Tequipment product range. They have become the accessory programme's best sellers. In 1997, the first Porsche Tequipment self-designed wheel appeared: the 17-inch Dyno wheel for the first generation Boxster. The wheel – exclusively available to retrofit – was produced in close collaboration with the Porsche Design Studio. A foundation stone for many joint development projects.
Motorsport accessories.
Also available since 2008: motorsport accessories from Porsche Tequipment. Entirely practical for everyday use and with road approval. For outstanding performance and an exceptional look. Experience from over 30,000 race victories that you can see and feel.
E-Performance accessories.
Porsche Tequipment launched the next chapter in 2013: E-Performance accessories for the 918 Spyder super sports car. The range for the Panamera S E-Hybrid and Cayenne S E-Hybrid consolidated this consistent future trend.

^ The published electricity consumption (kWh per 100 km), charging times (hours/minutes) and kilometre (km) range are estimates determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) – see www.porsche.com/wltp. The WLTP is the test procedure used in the European Union and does not apply in Australia, where the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) remains the appropriate test standard under ADR 81/02. Actual figures will vary as they are dependent on many factors including driving style, road and traffic conditions, weather conditions, a vehicle’s features, equipment, accessories, condition, load and use. Extra features and accessories (attachments, tyre formats, etc.) can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics can also affect the electricity consumption and performance values of a car. The published charging times are estimated using the vehicle’s charging equipment and European charging facilities, with the battery temperature under optimum conditions and the vehicle having an initial charge status of 5%. CO2 emissions can also be generated at the power source when vehicles are being charged, unless 100% renewable energy is used. As Australian models have not been tested in accordance with the NEDC procedure, the published figures do not apply in Australia and must not be relied upon in making a decision as to whether to purchase a vehicle. Please contact an Official Porsche Centre to obtain more information.
* The published fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures are determined by Porsche AG laboratory testing in accordance with ADR 81/02 on test vehicles. Actual figures will depend on many factors, including without limitation: road and traffic conditions, fuel quality, environmental conditions, individual driving style, vehicle load, vehicle condition and use (including any additional equipment and/or accessories) and how the vehicle is driven. For hybrid or electric vehicles, CO2 emissions can also be generated at the power source when vehicles are being recharged, unless 100% renewable energy is used. Generally, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions will differ from the published figures in real world driving conditions. Published figures should only be used for the purpose of comparison between vehicles.
